SIXTH LESSON :: Random Word/ Image Association ::

Random Word- Kitten

Situation- Create "Scary Images or Object" that will instill fear among people through out the ages.


The picture above is my drawing of a kitten with different words. Anticlockwise from the top is bloody face, think whiskers, irregular shape and bright colors.

Association of the four words:

1. Bloody face: make it terrible and violent as well.

2. Thick whickers: make it unusual.

3. Irregular shape: to bring up the term of wreak.

4. Bright colors: Evil and yet unique.

In practise What might is mean?

When we combine these elements togather, it formed a scary kitten and looks lascivious as well.

:: Analogy Excercise ::

Love is like a chilli, full with passion.

It's taste kill human's thinking.

It's seeds bring innocent lifes.

Life is like the light of a candle.

It is exhauting to stay alive by itself.

Yet, it learn a lot from it too.

Man is like a mortar and pastel.

Strong and reliable.

generous and lovable.

:: JUXTAPOSITION ll ::

My understanding from this lesson is,

Juxtaposition of analogy can be divided into two, which is : Metaphor and Similies.

Metaphor is a figure of speech.

The example of metaphor statement and similies statement is,

Metaphor : Life is a box of chocolate, you will never know what you will get!

Similies : Life is like a maze in which you try to avoid the exit.

From the two examples above, the differences between them is, metaphor statement never add 'like' or 'as', but similies statement.

In the analogy itself, it has logical analogies and affective analogies.

From the fifth slide of "Lesson 5.4 Juxtaposition" powerpoint,

Logical analogies is analogies, which use similarities in the design or function to connect back the subject. For example, the whale and submarine, both of them can dive into the depth of the sea, and yet they still need to surface for air.

Affective analogies is the emotional resemblance. For example, he is like a pig ( because he is lazy ), she is like an ant ( because she is hardworking ).

Before end, i wish to show a picture, u might guess what kind of analogy they have applied on it. A train and a woman, as shown in the photo, how your brain works on this?

FIFTH LESSON :: JUXTAPOSITION ::

What is Juxtaposition? There is another term has similar meaning with juxtaposition, which is antonym. Antonym, is a word that has the opposite meaning as another word and Juxtaposition is literary, synonymous with contrast, two objects or texts that oppose one another.

Some examples of antonym that found from Wikipedia are :

dead and alive

old and new

big and small

young and old
on and off
light and dark

FOURTH LESSON :: Associated Mind Map "MORTAR & PESTLE" ::

Picture below is my drawing about Mortar and Pestle.

I have choosen five different things as the functions of mortar and pestle. They are SUN, POWER, MEDICAL, MONEY and HEAVY.

Mortar can be the umbrella to protect people from sunlight. For the pestle, it can be transform into telescope by drilling a hole, so people can see trhrough the pastle. By overlapping a lot of pestle, it can build up a tent too.

The reason that i choose medical is because mortar and pestle can make medicine. Its fuction suits for everyone, different race as well.

Heavy, the first sight i saw this term, whats appeared in my mind is a funny scene. It was a kid playing seesaw with himself, another side was a heavy rock, and the character of heavy rock playing is Balance. Thats all!

The second funny things from my mind is, use mortar and pestel to create money. Besides, it also can increase the value of money. The only way, also is the easiest way to create money is, by putting some papers and water into the mortar then beat them with pestle as hard as you can!

Lastly, i would transform mortar as the crown and pestle as the staff of King!!! *can you imagine on that? ohyea, im genius, haha*
